Stage and screen stars Mark Adair-Ross, Esai Morales, and Tessa Thompson will star in a one-night reading of Caros Lacamara’s play Exiles at 8pm on Monday, October 27 at the Hayworth Theatre in Los Angeles.
The work, which will be directed by Lacamara, focuses on Rolando, a successful Miami businessman who return to Cuba after 20 years to rescue the mother he left behind. In a nasty turn of events, he is forced to take a hardened criminal and a mental patient with him, and then finds his boat blown off course by a storm. Lacamara’s other plays include Crashing Heaven, Havana Bourgeois, Nowhere on the Border, and Becoming Cuban.
