The Tony Awards Administration Committee has decided not to give an award for Best Recreation of a Role, a brand-new category. A special Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to producer/director Harold Prince, and the annual Regional Theatre Award will be presented to the Intiman Theatre in Seattle. Last week, it was announced that there would be no award for Best Special Theatrical Event; instead, a special Tony will be given to Sarah Jones, the writer and star of Bridge & Tunnel.
Following is a complete list of the 2006 Tony Award nominees. For more information, visit the website www.tonyawards.com.
