Will Eno’s Middletown to Open Vineyard Theatre Season

The Vineyard Theatre will present the world premiere of Will Eno’s Middletown, beginning on October 6, as the first offering of its 2010-2011 season. The production will be directed by Ken Rus Schmoll. Additional information will be announced shortly.

The play focuses on a small American town, where longtime resident John Dodge and newcomer Mary Swanson develop an friendship and the lives of the other residents intersect in strange and poignant ways.

Eno is best known for Thom Pain (based on nothing), which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. His other plays include The Flu Season, Tragedy, and Oh, the Humanity and other exclamations.

Schmoll’s directorial credits include Telephone, for which he received an Obie Award, The Internationalist, What We Once Felt and Amazons and Their Men.
