Olivier Award winner Tracie Bennett will reprise her performance as Judy Garland on Broadway in Peter Quilter’s End of the Rainbow, which will begin performances at a theater to be announced on March 19. Terry Johnson will direct the production, which will officially open on April 3.

Set in London in 1968, the show combines humor and heartbreak to capture both the drama of Garland’s final performances in London and her controversial life off stage. Among the songs included are “The Man That Got Away,” “Come Rain or Come Shine,” “The Trolley Song,” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”

As previously announced, the show will launch a U.K. tour at Royal & Dengate in Northampton, beginning August 25, which will continue through November 26. The show will then, as previously reported, play at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, running January 28 – March 11.

Bennett, who will also play her role for both the tour and the Guthrie run won Olivier Awards for her performances in Hairspray and She Loves Me, with other West End Credits including La Cage Aux Folles, Les Misérables, and Cash on Delivery.

The production is designed by William Dudley, with sound by Gareth Owen, lighting by Simon Corder and musical direction by Gareth Valentine.
