Tony Shalhoub to Join Patricia Heaton in Second Stage's The Scene
In this black comedy, Shalhoub will portray Charlie, an unemployed New York actor who is married to Heaton's character, Stella, a producer of a morning television news program. Rebeck's credits include Bad Dates, Spike Heels, and Mauritius, the latter receiving its world premiere this month at Boston's Huntington Theatre Company in a production directed by Taichman.
Shalhoub received a Tony Award nomination for Conversations with My Father and appeared on Broadway in The Heidi Chronicles and the 1985 revival of The Odd Couple. His other stage credits include Waiting for Godot and Richard III. He is a three-time Emmy Award winner for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for Monk; his other television credits include the NBC series Wings and the TV movie versions of Gypsy and That Championship Season.
