Ashanti, Joy Behar, Stephanie J. Block, Mario Cantone, Kerry Ellis, Michelle Federer, Mark Indelicato, Stephen Schwartz, Matthew Settle, and George Wendt help celebrate the fifth anniversary of Wicked.
On Monday Night, Wicked celebrated it’s 5th Anniversary at the Gershwin Theatre with a benefit performance of scenes and songs from early drafts of the musical entitled The Yellow Brick Road Not Taken. Among the celebrity participants were Gossip Girl star Matthew Settle.
Joy Behar, one of the co-hosts of The View wore an appropriate splash of green for the night.
Grammy Award winner Ashanti was on hand for the performance.
Two former Elphabas — Shoshana Bean and Stephanie J. Block — shared a few smiles just before the festivities.
Ugly Betty star Mark Indelicato was excited to take part in the benefit.
Former Wicked stars Jennifer Laura Thompson, Michelle Federer — currently appearing in Second Stage’s Boys’ Life — and Kate Reinders all performed.
Sex in the City star Mario Cantone was another celebrity cast member.
P.J. Benjamin, who currently plays the Wizard, and Hairspray star George Wendt also took part in the celebration.
Here are Wicked alumni Timothy Britten Parker and Ben Liebert.
Earlier on Monday, composer-lyricist Stephen Schwartz and current Elphaba Kerry Ellis were at the Empire State Building, which went green briefly in honor of the show’s milestone.
