Terry Donnelly, Patrick Fitzgerald, et al. Set for Irish Rep’s The Shaughraun

Irish Repertory Theatre has announced casting for Dion Boucicault’s The Shaughraun, to run April 21 – June 12. Charlotte Moore will direct the production, which will feature choreography by Barry McNabb.

The comedy, laced with melodrama, is set against a background of the secret Fenian Uprising in Ireland in 1866 and filled with beautiful damsels in distress, swashbuckling swordplay, mustache curling villains, and a charismatic vagabond hero.

The company will feature Patrick Fitzgerald and Terry Donnelly, who will, respectively, reprise their performances as Conn and Mrs. O’Kelly from the company’s 1998 revival of the play, along with Rory Duffy, Katie Fabel, Sean Gormley, Laurence Lowry, Emma O’Donnell, Kevin O’Donnell, Tim Ruddy, Mark Shanahan, Geddeth Smith, Gwenfair Vaughan, Allison Jean White, and Jake Zachry.

The creative team will include Klara Zieglerova (scenic design), Brian Nason (lighting design), Linda Fisher and Jessica Barrios Wright (costume design), and Zach Williamson (sound design).
