Mason Alexander Park (Hedwig and the Angry Inch) and Mimi Imfurst (RuPaul's Drag Race) have teamed up to present Taboo 15, a 15th anniversary concert of music from Boy George's cult hit musical Taboo, set for March 31 at the Laurie Beechman Theatre inside West Bank Cafe.

Joining Park and Imfurst in the cast will be Kaley Vorhees (The Phantom of the Opera), Shannon Conley (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), Caroline Lellouche (Diane Paulus’s Donkey Show at American Repertory Theatre), and Bobby Goodrich (Divine/Intervention), along with additional surprise guests. Performances will be accompanied by band members from the Broadway and national tour of Hedwig and The Angry Inch.

Taboo opened at Broadway's Plymouth Theatre (now the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre) in 2003, with a book by Charles Busch, a score by Boy George, and direction by Christopher Renshaw. The show was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Original Score, and performance nominations for Raúl Esparza and Euan Morton. The story concerns the lives of two larger-than-life personalities involved in the '80s London club scene: singer Boy George, who rose to international fame via the pop group Culture Club, and performance artist Leigh Bowery, who became known for his outlandish costumes and makeup before an early death from AIDS. Their stories are told against the background of the London club Taboo, which featured an array of self-proclaimed "freaks."
