Tony Award winner Rosemary Harris will star in Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt's solo play Oscar and the Pink Lady, to play San Diego's Old Globe Cassius Carter Centre Stage, September 22-November 4. The production, which will open officially on September 27, will be directed by Frank Dunlop.

The play is a surprisingly funny story of a young hospital patient and his uplifting relationship with an elderly volunteer "Pink Lady," whose daily visits provide him with inspiration and hope. Schmitt's other plays include The Visitor and Enigma Variations.

The show's creative team will include Michael Vaughn Sims (sets), Jane Greenwood (costumes), Trevor Norton (lighting), and Lindsay Jones (sound). Dunlop's directorial credits include the 1981 Broadway revival of Camelot, Lolita, and Scapino, for which he received a Tony nomination.

Harris won the Tony for The Lion in Winter and has been nominated on seven other occasions. In addition, she has won five Drama Desk Awards for her stage work. Harris has also received an Oscar nomination for Tom and Viv, an Emmy Award for Notorious Woman, and a Golden Globe Award for Holocaust. Most recently, she has appeared on the big screen as May Parker in the Spider-Man series of films.
