Full casting has been announced for the Public Theater’s production of Shakespeare’s Timon of Athens, to run February 15 – March 6. Barry Edelstein will direct the play, which is the inaugural offering in the newly established Public LAB Shakespeare program, which will allow the theater to explore works by the Bard in scaled-down productions.

Shakespeare’s play, set in ancient Greece, explores the ways in which money has the potential to influence (and corrupt) human interaction.

In addition to the previously reported star Richard Thomas as Timon, the cast will include Che Ayende (Thief, Servilius), Tom Bloom (Old Athenian, Senator), Max Casella (Apemantus), Reg E. Cathey (Alcibiades), Cary Donaldson (Thief, Lucilius), Brian Keane (Merchant), David Manis (Lucius, Senator), Anthony Manna (Jeweler, Caphis), Greg McFadden (Poet), Chris McKinney (Lucullus, Senator), Orville Mendoza (Painter), Mark Nelson (Flavius), Joe Paulik (Messenger), and Triney Sandoval (Sempronius, Senator).

The creative team will include Neil Patel (scenic design), Katherine Roth (costume design), Russell Champa (lighting design), and Curtis Moore (original music).
