On Monday, December 5, the Roundabout Theatre Company presented a one-night only benefit performance of Joe Masteroff, Jerry Bock, and Sheldon Harnick’s musical comedy, She Loves Me, at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre. Scott Ellis directed the reading, which featured musical staging by JoAnn M. Hunter and musical direction by Paul Gemignani.
The musical follows Amalia and Georg, two feuding clerks in a European parfumerie during the 1930’s who secretly find solace in their anonymous romantic pen pals, little knowing their respective correspondents are actually each other.
The cast starred Gavin Creel (Steven Kodaly), Victor Garber (Mr. Maraczek), Jane Krakowski (Ilona Ritter), Michael McGrath (Ladislav Sipos), Kelli O’Hara (Amalia Balas), Rory O’Malley (Arpad Laszlo), Josh Radnor (Georg Nowack), and Peter Bartlett (Headwaiter).

The creative team included Don Walker (orchestrations), Derek McLane (sets), Jeff Mahshie (costumes), Peter Kaczorowski (lights), Brian Ronan (sound), and Elaine McCarthy (projections).
