PHOTO FLASH: Bill Irwin Rehearses Vaudeville Routine with 4th Graders

Tony Award winner Bill Irwin rehearsed a special vaudeville routine with 4th graders at PS/IS 111 on the morning of Friday, November 5. They will perform it as the finale of the New 42nd Street’s annual gala, to be held on Monday, November 8 at The New Victory Theater.

As previously reported, Irwin will receive the first-ever New Victory Arts Award at the gala, which will feature tributes to him from Tony Award winner Nathan Lane, Oscar winner Jonathan Demme, new vaudeville troupe The Handsome Little Devils, and Full Circle Productions. Additionally, Lucie Arnaz will sing selections from her new CD, Latin Roots.

Irwin won the Tony for Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. Among his other Broadway credits are Bye Bye Birdie, Waiting for Godot, The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?, Fool Moon, and Largely New York, In addition, he was a founding member of Kraken Theatre Ensemble and San Francisco’s Pickle Family Circus.
