New York Theatre Workshop's 2019 gala will celebrate the theater's 40th anniversary and honor founding trustee Stephen Graham. The gala will take place at Capitale on Monday, February 11.

The evening will feature performances by the original cast members of Rent, Bright Lights, Big City, What's It All About, and Hadestown, with appearances by Leslie Odom Jr., Alice Ripley, Anthony Rapp, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Amber Gray, Nathaly Lopez, and Cristina Monet. Andrew Neisler will direct, with musical direction by Brian Usifer.

Graham founded New York Theatre Workshop in 1979 with a vision to support and encourage outstanding new playwrights and directors outside the commercial arena, and to develop inventive new works for the theater. In addition to his formative and ongoing work with NYTW, Graham is a Bard Center Fellow and professor of literature, and Chairperson Emeritus of the 52nd Street Project.
