New York City Screwtape Letters Is Now Open-Ended Run
Jeffrey Fiske and Max McLean’s 90-minute adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ novel The Screwtape Letters at the Westside Theatre is now an open-ended run. The production is directed by Fiske and stars McLean as Screwtape and Elise Girardin.
Set in an office in hell, the play offers a look into spiritual warfare from a demon’s point of view when a senior devil, Screwtape, and his secretary, Toadpipe, train a new apprentice, Wormwood.
The creative team includes Cameron Anderson (scenic design), Michael Bevins (costume design), John Gromada (sound design and original music), and Jesse Klug (lighting design).
The production played in New York in 2006 and 2008. It has toured nationally, playing venues in Chicago, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., among others.
