Moore and Cullum to Star in New Simon Play at MTC logo

Manhattan Theatre Club has announced that Mary Tyler Moore and John Cullum will star in the company's upcoming Off-Broadway production of Neil Simon's new play Rose's Dilemma.

The play, which will be directed by MTC artistic director Lynne Meadow (The Tale of the Allergist's Wife), tells the story of a celebrated writer (Moore) who finds the perfect inspiration for her next work in her ex-lover (Cullum). Also featured in the cast will be David Aaron Baker and Paula Cale; additional members of the creative team will be announced shortly.

Simon's many Broadway successes include Barefoot in the Park, The Odd Couple, Sweet Charity, Plaza Suite, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Biloxi Blues, and Broadway Bound. Moore is best known for her extensive television work on such series as The Dick Van Dyke Show and Mary Tyler Moore but has also appeared on Broadway in Whose Life Is It Anyway? and Sweet Sue. Cullum, most recently seen as the villainous Caldwell B. Cladwell in Urinetown, has numerous Broadway credits including the original productions of Camelot, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, Shenandoah, On The Twentieth Century, and Deathtrap.

Rose's Dilemma is set to begin previews at MTC - Stage 1, located at 131 West 55th Street, on Thursday, November 20; the official opening is scheduled for Tuesday, December 9. Tickets may be reserved through CityTix by calling 212-581-1212. For more information, visit the website
