MCC Theater has announced that its New York premiere of Jennifer Haley’s The Nether, directed by Anne Kauffman, will be filmed for the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive for the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. The filming will take place during the March 20 performance. The production, which opened on February 24 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, recently extended performances through March 29.

The Nether explores the complicated morality of a new frontier in the digital world: a virtual playground where people can be coaxed into acting out their darkest fantasies, with no "real world" consequences. The play had its world premiere in Los Angeles in 2013 at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre, and recently opened a production in London's West End at the Royal Court Theatre.

The MCC production features Emmy Award winner Merritt Wever, Tony winner Frank Wood, Tony nominee Peter Friedman, Ben Rosenfield, and Sophia Anne Caruso.
