Hamilton Creator Lin-Manuel Miranda Joins Cast of Disney's New DuckTales

The series will also feature theater veterans David Tennant and Danny Pudi.

UPDATE, April 13, 2018: Lin-Manuel Miranda's episode of DuckTales will air on May 11, 2018.

Broadway's Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator and original star of the hit musical Hamilton, has signed on to the cast of Disney XD's new DuckTales series, according the published reports. Miranda is set to voice the character of Gizmoduck, a heroic Duckburg character whose alter ego is Fenton Crackshell.

In addition to Miranda, the cast will include stage veterans David Tennant (Richard II) and Danny Pudi (Found) as well as Ben Schwartz, Bobby Moynihan, Tony Anselmo, Kate Micucci, Beck Bennett, and Toks Olagundoye. The series is produced by Disney Television Animation and Matt Youngberg serves as executive producer.

Miranda is the recipient of three Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards, an Emmy Award, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and the MacArthur Foundation Award. In addition to Hamilton his Broadway work has included In the Heights and Bring It On. He recently wrote songs for Disney's animated film Moana and he will soon be seen in a starring role in the upcoming Mary Poppins sequel.
