John Lithgow Honored by Annette Bening and More at Roundabout Gala

John Lithgow, who will star in Lucas Hnath's upcoming Broadway production of Hillary and Clinton, was honored with the Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre at Roundabout Theatre Company's 2018 gala, held February 25 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom.

The Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre is named after the late Jason Robards for his longstanding relationship with Roundabout and memorable body of stage work. It is given to those who have made an indelible impact on both Roundabout and the theater world.

Lithgow is a Tony winner for his performances in The Changing Room and Sweet Smell of Success. His many Broadway credits also include M. Butterfly, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and A Delicate Balance. A six-time Emmy Award winner, Lithgow is best known for his television roles in 3rd Rock From the Sun, Dexter, and The Crown.

The event featured a special performance by Idina Menzel after upcoming All My Sons star Annette Bening presented the award to Lithgow.
