John Doble’s To Protect the Poets Set for Manhattan Repertory Theater’s Summerfest 2010

Manhattan Repertory Theater’s Summerfest 2010 will present the world premiere of writer/director John Doble’s To Protect the Poets, August 11-13.

The play follows two detectives on a murder case, whose investigation leads them to a lonely poetry teacher and her sisters. One of the detectives falls in love with his potential witness, but the action he takes to protect her violates her deepest principles.

The cast will include Patricia Damon, Richard Fiske, Elizabeth Dilley, Cora Poage, Todd Tour’e, Reza Salazar, Keet Davis, Morgan Parpan, and Kiat-Sing Teo. Lights and sound will be by Bethany Briggs.
