Hamish Linklater and Lily Rabe will join the previously announced Alan Rickman in Teresa Rebeck’s Seminar. The production, directed by Sam Gold, will play Broadway’s John Golden Theatre, beginning performances on October 27 in anticipation of an official opening on November 20.

The comedy centers on four young writers who are participating in a private seminar taught by the brilliant but unpredictable Leonard (Rickman), an international literary legend. But as Leonard deems some students more promising than others, tensions arise, sex is used as a weapon, and alliances are made and broken. Additional casting will be announced in the near future.

Linklater and Rabe co-starred in The Merchant of Venice as part of the Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park season in 2010. Among Linklater’s other stage credits are The Winter’s Tale, The Merchant of Venice, Twelfth Night, The Busy World Is Hushed, and Recent Tragic Events, as well as his recent Obie Award winning performance in The School for Lies.

Rabe received a Tony Award nomination for her performance in The Merchant of Venice when it transferred to Broadway. Her other stage credits include The American Plan, Heartbreak House, and Steel Magnolias.
