Ellen Burstyn to Play Barbara Bush in Stone’s W

Ellen Burstyn, who is currently starring in the LAByrinth Theatre Company’s production of Stephen Adly Guirgis’ The Little Flower of East Orange, will play former first lady Barbara Bush in Oliver Stone’s upcoming film W, according to Variety.

The film, which will focuses on the early life of President George W. Bush, will star Josh Brolin in the title role, Elizabeth Banks as Laura Bush, and James Cromwell as George H.W. Bush.

Burstyn received the Tony Award for Same Time, Next Year and has also appeared on Broadway in 84 Charing Cross Road, Shirley Valentine, and Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All. She is a six-time Academy Award nominee, and won the Oscar for Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore.
