Eager to Lose Extends Its Run at Ars Nova
The burlesque-inspired production has added a week of performances.
The world premiere production of Eager to Lose has extended its off-Broadway run at Ars Nova through November 9. The burlesque-inspired show was initially set to play through November 2. It began previews October 9 and opened October 22.
Developed through Ars Nova's ANT Fest and Project Residency programs, Eager to Lose is a collaboration of writer Matthew-Lee Erlbach, directors Wes Grantom and Portia Krieger, and burlesque sensation Tansy. The production features John Behlmann, Richard Saudek, Emily Walton, and Stacey Yen.
The story follows Tansy, the crown jewel of the Tim Tam Room, where music, champagne, and dancing titillate and tempt. When Tansy announces her departure, the club's MC is left in shock. High jinks and stripteases ensue.
The production also features choreography by Tansy, scenic design by Mark Erbaugh, costume design by Tilly Grimes, lighting design by Brian Tovar, sound design by Josh Millican, and music direction by Cody Owen Stine.
