Dreamgirls National Tour Announces Full Casting

Casting has been announced he upcoming national tour of the Tony Award-winning musical Dreamgirls which will launch at New York City’s Apollo Theater on November 7, and play there until December 6. Robert Longbottom will direct and choreograph the production.

The show will introduce Moya Angela as Effie White. It will also star Syesha Mercado as Deena Jones, Adrienne Warren as Lorrell Robinson, Margaret Hoffman as Michelle Morris, Chaz Lamar Shepherd as Curtis Taylor, Jr., Chester Gregory as James “Thunder” Early, Trevon Davis as C.C. White, and Milton Craig Nealy as Marty Madison, along with Tallia Brinson, Felicia Boswell, Ronald Duncan, Talitha Farrow, Brittney Griffin, James Harkness, Robert Hartwell, Eric Jackson, Chauncey Jenkins, Jared Joseph, Nikki Kimbrough, Brittany Lewis, Douglas Lyons, Kimberly Marable, Jarran Muse, Amaker Smith, and Marc Spaulding.

Featuring music by Henry Krieger and lyrics and book by Tom Eyen, the musical tells the story of a young female singing trio from Chicago, and their rocky road to superstardom. Longbottom received a Tony nomination for his choreography of Flower Drum Song, which he also directed. His other direction and choreography credits include Anything Goes, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and Side Show.

The show will feature co-choreography by Shane Sparks, scenic design by Robin Wagner, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Ken Billington, and sound design by ACME Sound Partners.
