Couldn't Get Tickets to Aaron Tveit's Sold-Out 54 Below Show?
Don't worry, Les Miz fans, they'll be recording it.
54 Below recently released tickets to newly minted fangirl favorite and Broadway veteran Aaron Tveit's upcoming debut 54 Below solo concert, and nearly the entire four-performance run sold out within minutes. Then, two more concerts were announced, and when those tickets were released, they too were gone in the tear-filled blink of hundreds of young girls' eyes.
Fortunately, Broadway Records has stepped in to ease the pain. The company has announced plans to record a live solo album entitled "The Radio In My Head," based on Tveit's 54 Below appearances this May. The album will contain unique mixes of Broadway and pop music as well as childhood favorites and contemporary sounds.
Aaron Tveit made his Broadway debut in 2006, taking over the role of Link Larkin in the Tony Award-winning musical Hairspray, and returned to Broadway in 2008 as Fiyero in Wicked. He first originated a Broadway role in 2009 as Gabe in the Tom Kitt/Brian Yorkey musical Next To Normal. Most recently, Tveit took his dashing good looks and impressive vocals to the big screen as Enjolras in the blockbuster film adaptation of Les Misérables.
"The Radio In My Head: Live At 54 Below" won't be released until September 10 (preorder here!), but you can pass the time watching just the Tveit-filled second half of the Les Miz film. The DVD was released on March 22, but you probably already knew that.
