Carly Rose Sonenclar, from Broadway’s Wonderland, Set for New Season of Electric Company

11-year-old actress and singer Carly Rose Sonenclar — who is featured as Chloe, Alice’s daughter, in the upcoming Broadway musical Wonderland – A New Alice. A New Musical — will appear in the new season of the Emmy Award-winning children’s series The Electric Company, which will premiere February 7 on PBS KIDS GO.

Sonenclar will portray Gilda Flip, a prankster-in-training, on the series, which will feature 12 new episodes airing every Monday. The show’s focus is on literacy and highlighting the vocabulary of mathematics.

Featuring music by Frank Wildhorn, lyrics by Jack Murphy, and a book by Gregory Boyd and Jack Murphy, Wonderland – A New Alice. A New Musical is directed by Boyd, with choreography by Marguerite Derricks. The production will begin a Broadway run at the Marquis Theatre on March 21, in anticipation of an opening on April 17.

The musical is a story about a new Alice who has lost her joy in life. Estranged from her husband, alienated from her daughter and in danger of losing her career, Alice finds herself in Wonderland where she encounters strange though familiar characters that help her rediscover the wonder in her life while searching for her daughter.

The principal cast also includes Janet Dacal (Alice), Darren Ritchie (White Knight), E. Clayton Cornelious (Caterpillar), Jose Llana (El Gato), Karen Mason (Queen of Hearts), Kate Shindle (Mad Hatter), Edward Staudenmayer (White Rabbit), and Danny Stiles (Morris).
