Bundy, Hart, Jones, Noll, et al. to Be Part of New York Pops Season

Preliminary details have been announced for the New York Pops 2008-2009 season at Carnegie Hall.

On Friday, October 17, the Pops will celebrate the music of Leonard Bernstein, with conductor Constantine Kitsopoulos and Broadway star Christiane Noll and other guest artists.

On Friday, November 7, the Pops celebrates its 25th anniversary with classic songs of New York and the world premiere of original songs about the city by Kenneth Laub. Vinnie Falcone and Eric Stern will conduct, and guest artists will include Clint Holmes, Jack Jones, Laura Bell Bundy, and Linda Hart.

On Friday, December 19, Rob Fisher and the King’s Singers will present a festive program of holiday favorites; on Friday, March 6, Carl Davis will conduct an evening of music from the James Bond films; and on Friday, April 3, conductor Martin Yates will celebrate the 80th birthday of Charles Strouse, the composer of such shows as Annie, Applause, and Bye Bye Birdie.
