The Public Theater has announced an extension of Bridget Everett's Rock Bottom at Joe's Pub. The production, which officially opened on September 17, is now set to close on October 16.

Rock Bottom was commissioned as part of Joe's Pub's 2013 New York Voices series. Written by Everett, along with Hairspray scribes Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz and Matt Ray, the show is her first major production since 2007's At Least It's Pink.

Rock Bottom is described as "the story of what happens when you're too passionate to give up, and too big to fail. In it, Everett barrels through life tip-toeing toward disaster, wine bottle by wine bottle and man by man. However, instead of succumbing to a chardonnay-induced stupor, Everett embraces a series of revelations that lead her and her voice of an angel to redemption." The set list will be made up of new songs and tunes that Everett plays monthly with her band, The Tender Moments.

The show's complete company includes Cole Escola, Celisse Henderson, and Chelsea Packard. Musicians are David Berger (drums), Jason DiMatteo (bass), Mike Jackson (guitar), and Bette Sussman (music director / piano).
