Patrick Boll, Donna Lynne Champlin, and Michele Pawk will headline the Transport Group’s revival of William Inge’s The Dark at the Top of the Stairs, to run March 30-April 21 at the Connelly Theatre. The production, to be directed by Jack Cummings III, will open officially on April 5.

The production will also feature Paul Iacono, Liz Mamana, Colby Minifie, Jay Potter, Jack Tartaglia, and Matt Yaeger. The creative team will include Sandra Goldmark (sets), Shana Albery (costumes), R. Lee Kennedy (lighting), and Seth Guterman (sound).

First seen on Broadway in 1957, the show is set in a small Oklahoma town in the 1920s and focuses on a middle-class family torn apart by economic forces, social upheaval, and sexual trauma. Inge’s other plays include Picnic, Bus Stop, and Come Back, Little Sheba.

Boll was recently seen in Transport Group’s critically acclaimed production of All the Way Home. Champlin has starred on Broadway in such shows as Sweeney Todd and Hollywood Arms. Pawk won the Tony Award for her work in Hollywood Arms; her many New York credits include Mamma Mia!, The Paris Letter, and A Little Night Music.
