Beaty, Eggloff, Hudes, Shinn, Wright, et al. Set for Hartford Stage’s Brand:NEW Festival

Hartford Stage has announced the participants for its Brand: NEW Festival of readings, November 6-10. Casts and creative team will be announced at a later date.

The theater will present a reading of its new AETNA fellow Quiara Hudes’ Elliot: A Soldier’s Fugue, as well as Christopher Shinn’s political drama Now or Later, Elizabeth Eggloff’s biodrama The Ether Dome, about scientist Horace Wells, Daniel Beaty’s The Story of Roland Hayes, a musical journey of the world-renowned African-American concert singer, and Craig Wright’s Mistakes Were Made, about the day in the life of an aging entrepreneur.

Beaty and Hudes will also participate in 10/10/10, a group of 10 ten-minute plays to be presented on November 10; the evening will be a fundraiser for Hartford Stage. Other participants will be Edward Albee, Luis Alfaro, Michael Elyanow, Eve Ensler, Horton Foote, Eduardo Machado, Suzan-Lori Parks, and Theresa Rebeck.
