AUDIO SHARE: Jayne Houdyshell on Newly Recorded Solo Version of Follies‘ "Broadway Baby"

PS Classics has released a solo version of the song “Broadway Baby” from Follies, sung by 2012 Tony Award nominee Jayne Houdyshell, who played Hattie in the recent Broadway revival of the musical.
The solo track came about after PS Classics was asked by the Metropolitan Museum of Art if they could include the song on a compilation CD. A note on their website explains, “We of course said yes, but we also felt the track might be more appropriate on a compilation disc as a Hattie solo, without Solange and the Whitmans mysteriously returning at the end. So the wonderful Jayne Houdyshell went back into the studio last month and recorded a new ending.”
