Playwright Aleshea Harris will adapt her play Is God Is for the big screen, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film will be produced by Scott Rudin and A24.

Is God Is had its world premiere at Soho Rep in February and earned four Obie Awards. The play was described as "a modern myth that follows twin sisters as they sojourn from the Dirty South to the California desert to exact righteous revenge."

No timeline or additional information about the film has been released. Rudin and the independent film company A24 have recently collaborated on the films Lady Bird and Eighth Grade, as well as the upcoming Mid-90s. Harris's latest play, What to Send Up When It Goes Down, will be presented by Movement Theater Company November 11-December 8 at the A.R.T./New York Theatres.
