On Monday morning, the stars of Broadway's Aladdin braved the cold in their skin-bearing Arabian costumes to toss some preliminary New Year's confetti from the marquee of the New Amsterdam Theatre. The Disney musical is the official sponsor of the Times Square New Year’s Eve confetti wishes — an annual event inviting visitors from around the world to write their wishes for the New Year on pieces of confetti, which are collected at the New Year’s Eve Wishing Wall located at the Times Square Visitor Center.

The wishes are then mixed in with 3,000 pounds of confetti that will be dropped by more than 100 volunteers on the celebratory crowd gathered in Times Square on New Year's Eve at midnight. Of course you can't expect to nail something so complex as confetti-tossing on your first attempt. Luckily, Aladdin (Adam Jacobs), Jasmine (Courtney Reed), and the Genie (James Monroe Iglehart) were on hand to take the activity for a trial run.
