Joining the trio at the Belasco Theatre will be members of the Shakespeare’s Globe and subsequent West End casts, including Liam Brennan (Orsino and Clarence/Lord Mayor), Paul Chahidi (Maria and Tyrell), John Paul Connolly (Antonio and 1st Murderer/Cardinal/Ratcliff/Halberdier), Peter Hamilton Dyer (Feste and Brakenbury/Catesby), Colin Hurley (Sir Toby Belch and King Edward IV/Stanley), Terry McGinity (Sea Captain/Priest and Scrivener/Rivers/Blunt), Jethro Skinner (Fabian and 2nd Murderer/Messenger/Halberdier), and Angus Wright (Sir Andrew Aguecheek and Duke of Buckingham). Full casting will be announced in the future.
Directed by Tim Carroll, the revivals, which originated at Shakespeare’s Globe before transferring to London’s West End, will play the Belasco beginning October 15. Opening night is set for November 10. Twelfth Night will be performed six times per week, with Richard III being performed twice. Audiences have the opportunity to see both productions in one day on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Every performance will feature 250 seats to be sold for $25, located in the balcony, selected locations in the orchestra, mezzanine, and boxes, as well as Globe-style seating on stage.
The productions will feature designs by Jenny Tiramani and music by Rylance’s wife, Clare van Kampen. A seven-member band will play live music on traditional Elizabethan instruments.
