Laura Benanti, Gavin Creel, Elaine Paige, et al. Set for Lincoln Center’s American Songbook

Lincoln Center has announced programming for its 2012 American Songbook series of concerts, to be held at the Allen Room at Frederick P. Rose Hall at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

The season will kick off on January 11 with a concert by Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, who will offer a preview of his work-in-progress The Hamilton Mixtape.


Additional highlights will include William Finn: Songs of Innocence and Experience (January 14); a performance by Tony Award winner LaChanze (January 19); The Idea of the South (January 21), featuring Michael Cerveris; Hello, Gorgeous! (February 3), which will feature Leslie Kritzer delivering songs by Jule Styne; a concert with Gavin Creel & Stephen Oremus (February 4); a performance by Elaine Paige (February 10); and a concert by Tony Award winner Laura Benanti (February 11).


Other offerings will include performances by Chris Thile and Michael Daves (January 12), J.D. Souther (January 13), Jonatha Brooke (January 18), Ozomatli (January 20), Keren Ann (February 1), Thurston Moore (February 2), Bill Callahan (February 8), and tUnE-yArDs (February 9).
