Some elderly people in New York can’t get out to experience the city’s exciting theater scene. Enter Sing for Your Seniors, a nonprofit organization that brings theater to New York’s senior citizens. Jackie Vanderbeck, founder of Sing for Your Seniors, recently started the organization’s Broadway sessions, in which cast members of current Broadway shows sing at one of many senior centers. Past performances have included the casts of Mamma Mia!, Chicago, and Evita. Most recently, the cast of Kinky Boots came to the SAGE center in Manhattan to sing for a group of LGBT seniors. TheaterMania was there to capture the magic. See the photo gallery below, and stay tuned for an exclusive video of this wonderful performance.
