John Billingsley, Karole Foreman, and Travis Schuldt will star in the Lillian Theatre’s production of Richard Greenberg’s The Violet Hour, to be presented February 11-March 13, with an opening on February 12. Darin Anthony will direct.

The play is set in the year 1919, as a young independent publisher has only enough capital to put out one book, and must choose between an unruly manuscript by his brash and gifted college friend and the memoir of his secret mistress. Meanwhile, a machine of mysterious provenance and purpose has arrived and is spewing out stacks of pages that just may reveal the future. The cast will also feature Peter Larney and Lisa Valerie Morgan.

The production will feature set design by Joel Daavid, lighting design by Luke Moyer, original music and sound design by Doug Newell, costume design by Shon LeBlanc, and hair and wig design by Diane Martinous.

Billingsley is best known to television audiences for his portrayal of Dr. Phlox on Star Trek: Enterprise. Foreman was an original cast member in Mark Taper Forum’s Jelly’s Last Jam and played Tanya in the Las Vegas production of Mamma Mia! Schuldt is perhaps best known for his work on the TV series Scrubs.
