Jamie LaVerdiere, Sarah Strimel to Star in Sweet Charity at John W. Engeman Theater

The John W. Engeman Theater is set to present Sweet Charity, September 8-October 28. Alan Souza will direct, with musical direction by James Olmstead and choreography by Al Blackstone.

This Neil Simon-Cy Coleman-Dorothy Fields musical focuses on the romantic ups-and-downs of an ever-hopeful dance hall hostess, despite endless disappointments.

The cast will feature Sarah Strimel (Charity Hope Valentine), Jamie LaVerdiere (Charlie/ Vittorio/ Oscar), Lisa Karlin (Nickie), Debra Walton (Helene), Danny Bolero (Herman), Lisa Donmall-Reeve (Ursula), and David Glaspie (Big Daddy) as well as Andy Geary, Danielle Kelsey, Adam Lendermon, Kelly Marteney, Luke McCollum, Khori Michelle, Kate Scott, and Nick Varricchio.

The design team will include Kevin Judge (set design), John Davenport (costume
design), Todd Wren (lighting design), Craig Kaufman (sound design), and Mark Adam Rampmeyer (hair and makeup design).
