Neal Foster to Direct Horrible Histories – Barmy Britain in London

Neal Foster will direct Horrible Histories – Barmy Britain, which will begin performances on February 14 at the West End’s Garrick Theatre. Foster has written the piece with Terry Deary, on whose books the show is based, and Ciaran McConville.Casting will be announced in the near future.

The show comedically explores stories from Roman, Tudor, Stuart, Georgian, Victorian and World War I periods and features famous characters such as Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn, Guy Fawkes, Florence Nightingale and General Earl Haig.

Foster’s credits include the touring version of Horrible Histories, as well as The Firework-Makers Daughter, The Jungle Book, and George’s Marvellous Medicine. In addition, his production of Skellig recently played at The New Victory Theatre.

The creative team will include production designer Jackie Trousdale, lighting designer Jason Taylor, and sound designer Nick Sagar, along with Matthew Scott who will provide original music.
