Samuel Barnett, Billy Bragg, Arthur Darvill et al. Set for Bush Theatre’s Sixty-Six Books

Casting has been announced for Sixty-Six Books, to play the Bush Theatre, October 10-29. Josie Rourke is curating the production, which is created in conjunction with the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible, and features new theater works that are contemporary responses to the books of the bible.

The work brings together dozens of writers and directors, as well as over 100 actors. As previously reported, among the participating writers are Neil Bartlett, Moira Buffini, Anne Carson, David Edgar, Neil LaBute, Tim Rice, Christopher Shinn, Wole Soyinka, Enda Walsh, Zukiswa Wanner, and Jeanette Winterson.

Among the actors will be Samuel Barnett, Billy Bragg, Niall Buggy, John Cummins, Arthur Darvill, Mariah Gale, William Gaunt, Aidan Kelly, Gareth Kieran Jones, Hattie Morahan, Bill Paterson, and Michelle Terry.

The engagement will include 24-hour performances during which audiences can experience all 66 responses. During the remainder of the engagement, pieces will be offered performance-long groupings.
