Nick Lloyd Webber to Compose Original Music for Oxford Shakespeare Company’s The Tempest

Nick Lloyd Webber, son of Andrew Lloyd Webber, will compose an original score for the Oxford Shakespeare Company’s production of The Tempest, according to a report on the website for the U.K. magazine The Stage. Mick Gordon will direct the production, which will run June 9 – August 30 at various locations in Oxford and London.

The production, which marks the 400th anniversary of the play, will be performed in repertory with Private Lives in July and August. Casting will be announced at a later date.

Lloyd Webber has worked with the company for three years, and composed an original score for its production of Twelfth Night last summer. He has also composed for films including Homecoming, Post and Mon amour mon parapluie. In addition, he is the singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist behind the band Archangel and has been producing Marc Almond’s newest album.
