Mike Leigh’s A Running Jump to Screen at London Festival

Mike Leigh’s new short film, A Running Jump, Eddie Marsan, Sam Kelly and Samantha Spiro, will be screened on June 25 as part of the London Festival, according to The Hollywood Reporter.


The festival runs June 21-September 9 as part of Britian’s celebration of the 2012 Summer Olympics, being held in London.


Leigh’s film, along with Asif Kapadia’s The Odyssey, Lynne Ramsay’s The Swimmer, and Max Giwa and Dania Pasquini’s What If, will all premiere a the Edinburgh International Film Festival on June 24, followed by the London premiere at the Hackney Picturehouse and a live simulcast to around 50 cinemas across the U.K. The films will also air on the BBC and Channel 4 during the London 2012 Festival.


Leigh’s plays include Grief, Two Thousand Years, Goosepimples, Abigail’s Party, Ecstasy, and Smelling a Rat. His many films include Secrets and Lies, Topsy-Turvy, Naked, Vera Drake, Happy-Go-Lucky, and Another Year.
