Daniel Gerroll, Caroline Lagerfelt, et al. Set for Tricycle Theatre’s Greta Garbo Came To Donegal

The world premiere of Frank McGuinness’ Greta Garbo Came To Donegal will open the Tricycle Theatre‘s winter-spring season, running January 7 – February 20. Nicholas Kent will direct the production.

Set in 1967, McGuinness’ play focuses on a group of people struggling through a time of change whose lives are touched by the screen legend. The company will feature Angeline Ball (Sylvia Hennessy), Lisa Diveney (Colette Hennessy), Michelle Fairley (Paulie Hennessy), Daniel Gerroll (Matthew Dover), Caroline Lagerfelt (Greta Garbo), Owen McDonnell (James Hennessy), and Tom McKay (Harry Caulfield).

The creative team will include Robert Jones (production design), Matthew Eagland (lighting design), and Tom Lishman (sound design).

The Tricycle’s season will also include Martin Lynch’s Chronicles of Long Kesh (March 15 – April 10), directed by Lynch and Lisa May. Developed from interviews, the play is a history of one of the U.K.’s most infamous prisons. The cast will feature Billy Clarke (Freddie), Chris Corrigan (Eamon), Jo Donnelly (Thumper), Marty Maguire (Oscar), Andy Moore (Hank), and Marc O’Shea (Toot).

The third production at the Tricycle will be a return engagement of Filter’s Twelfth Night (May 4 – May 29), presented in association with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Sean Holmes directs this radically cut and fast-paced version of Shakespeare’s comedy. Casting will be announced at a later date.
