The Amen Corner Featured as Part of CSN’s Hands Across the Arts Benefit

The second annual Hands Across the Arts Benefit will be presented at the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre on the College of Southern Nevada’s Cheyenne Campus on April 3, beginning at 6 pm.

It will include a performance from the 1964 Broadway hit The Amen Corner, written by James Baldwin and produced and directed by Walter Mason. The play is about faith and family, and tells the story of how Sister Margaret Alexander moved her Harlem congregation with a mixture of personal charisma and ferocious piety. The show will also perform on April 4 at 7:30 pm and April 5 at 2 pm.

The event will raise funding to support performing arts students, and will honor longtime Las Vegas headliner Clint Holmes with a “Lifetime Performing Arts Award” and Commissioner Lawrence Weekly with a “Lifetime Community Service Award.” John Daly will emcee the event.
