Steve Martin's Picasso at the Lapin Agile Set to Begin at Alley Theatre

The comedy begins performances tonight under the direction of Sanford Robbins.

Performances of Steve Martin's Picasso at the Lapin Agile begin tonight at the Alley Theatre. Sanford Robbins directs.

Picasso at the Lapin Agile imagines what Pablo Picasso and Albert Einstein, two great men who were close in age and in Paris at the same time around 1904, might have discussed if they had met and who else might have joined them at the Lapin Agile bar.

The cast includes resident company members Elizabeth Bunch as Germain, Dylan Godwin as Albert Einstein, Shawn Hamilton as Freddy, Chris Hutchison as Charles Dabernow Schmendiman, Melissa Pritchett as Suzanne, Jay Sullivan as Visitor, and Todd Waite as Sagot. Additionally, joining the company are visiting artists Torrey Hanson as Gaston and Joseph Castillo-Midyett as Pablo Picasso.

The creative team includes scenic and lighting design by Kevin Rigdon, costume designs by Tricia Barsamian, original music and sound design by Lindsay Jones. Brandon Weinbrenner serves as assistant director, and Kristen Larson as stage manager.
