Malik Yoba to Star in DTC’s The Piano Lesson

Malik Yoba will star as Boy Willie in the Delaware Theatre Company’s production of August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson, April 9-27, to be directed by Kevin Ramsey.

In the play, which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1990, the ghosts of slavery and family fight in this mythic battle for a beloved piano, which represents both a reminder of the past and the opportunity of the future.

The cast also includes Tracey Conyer Lee, Roger Robinson, Cedric Turner, Edward O’Blenis, Nathan Hinton, Lauryn Jones, and Joniece Abbott-Pratt.

Yoba is best known for his work in film and television, including Cool Runnings, New York Undercover, and Why Did I Get Married? He starred Off-Broadway in the New Group’s production of Everythings Turning Into Beautiful.
