Michael Goldberg, Melanie Keller Set for First Folio’s The Merchant of Venice

First Folio Theatre is set to close its 15th season with Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice for the annual Shakespeare-under-the-Stars production on the outdoor main stage, July 11-August 19 at the Mayslake Peabody Estate. Artistic director Alison C. Vesely will direct.

In The Merchant of Venice, a Venetian merchant named Antonio, willing to sacrifice anything for the budding romance of his dear friend Bassanio, agrees to offer a pound of his own flesh as collateral in a deal with Shylock, a Jewish moneylender and also his bitter rival.

The cast will include Nick Sandys (Antonio), Kevin McKillip (Bassanio), Michael Goldberg (Shylock), and Melanie Keller (Portia).
