Gregg Edelman, Liz McCartney, et al. Set for Drury Lane Theatre’s Sweeney Todd

Drury Lane Theatre has announced casting for Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s Sweeney Todd, to run August 11 – October 9. Rachel Rockwell will direct and choreograph the production.

Based on English legend, the musical centers on a man who returns to London from a penal colony in Australia and wreaks revenge on those who wronged him.

The company will feature Gregg Edelman in the title role and Liz McCartney as Todd’s partner-in-crime, Mrs. Lovett, along with Kevin Gudahl (Judge Turpin), George Keating (Adolfo Pirelli), Jonah Rawitz (Tobias Ragg), Emily Rohm (Johanna Barker), Travis Taylor (Anthony Hope), and George Andrew Wolff (Beadle Bamford).

The creative team will include Kevin Depinet (scenic design), Jesse Klug (lighting design), Theresa Ham (costume design), and Garth Helm (sound design).
