Olympia Dukakis Set for American Blues Theater Benefit

Academy Award-winner Olympia Dukakis will read from RIPPED: The Living Newspaper Project, during the American Blues Theater’s The Rebirth of Blues Benefit, to be held at Bridgeview Bank (4753 N. Broadway in Chicago), on Monday, November 16 at 6:30pm.

Ripped is a new project by ABT ensemble members Rick Cleveland, Tania Richard, and Gwendolyn Whiteside with a wealth other writers, musicians, dancers, singers, actors, and directors from Chicago and across the country. It will be presented later this fall with details still to be announced. Dukakis will read a passage written by playwright Eduardo Machado. The program will also include Dennis Zacek reading a passage written by Cleveland, and other special guests.

ABT’s season will also include It’s a Wonderful Life: Live at the Biograph! (November 27-December 27) and Jack Kirkland’s 1933 classic Tobacco Road(May-June 2010).
