Jones, Kolvenbach, Nottage, Wright, et al. Set for WHAT’s 2008 Summer Season

The Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater (WHAT) has announced the selections for its 2008 summer season, to take place at the Julie Harris Theater, Harbor Stage, and the WHAT for KIDS Tent.

This season will kick off with Lynn Nottage’s Intimate Apparel (May 21-June 14), directed by Jeff Zinn. Next up will be the world premiere of Ride, by Eric Lane, directed by Daisy Walker, June 4-29. Tony nominee Max Wright will star in Joe Orton’s What the Butler Saw, directed by David Wheeler, June 19-July 12.

Marivaux’s Triumph of Love, directed by James Magruder, will be presented June 29-August 31. Brendan Hughes will direct Rolin Jones’ world premiere Short Stack, July 2-27. Martin McDonagh’s The Pillowman will be directed by Jeff Zinn, July 17-August 9. Elizabeth Meriwether’s The Mistakes Madeline Made will be directed by Brendan Hughes, July 30-August 24.

Fabuloso, by John Kolvenbach, will make its world premiere August 14-September 6. (Kolvenbach will also be honored with the 2nd Annual WHAT Award on August 14.) David Mamet’s Sexual Perversity in Chicago will be directed by Brendan Hughes, August 27-September 21. The world premiere of The George Place, by David Johnston, will debut September 11-October 4.

For the kids, WHAT will be presenting Fool of the World and the Flying Ship (July 7-August 28), written and directed by Stephen Russell, as well as a Circus Camp (July 9-August 27), Acting Camp (July 12-August 23), and Shakespeare for Kids program (July 12-August 23).
