Wicked has announced plans to welcome new cast members to the Gershwin Theatre this fall. Beginning November 20, Tony Award nominee Nancy Opel (Honeymoon in Vegas) will assume the role of Madame Morrible, and Jamie Jackson (Doctor Zhivago) will assume the role of Doctor Dillamond. Jesse J.P. Johnson (SpongeBob SquarePants) will assume the role of Boq on December 11.

They join a cast that currently includes Jessica Vosk as Elphaba, Amanda Jane Cooper as Glinda, Kevin Chamberlin as the Wizard, Ryan McCartan as Fiyero, and Kristen Martin as Nessarose. Isabel Keating (Madame Morrible) and Martin Moran (Dr. Dillamond) will play their final performances on November 18. Jye Frasca (Boq) will play his final performance on December 9.

Based on the novel of the same name by Gregory Maguire, Wicked is set in the land of Oz and tells the story of young women Glinda and Elphaba, who grow up to become Glinda the Good Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West, respectively. Featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman, the production is directed by Joe Mantello, with musical staging by Wayne Cilento.
